Solaire Appointed AgustaWestland Independent Sales Representative For Malaysia on 20 Feb 2008
AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Solaire has been appointed as an AgustaWestland Independent Sales Representative for Malaysia. Solaire, which has extensive experience in the commercial helicopter market, particularly for VIP/corporate transport purposes, has also signed a contract for a Grand light twin turbine helicopter.
This agreement represents the latest move to strengthen AgustaWestland's position in the Malaysian market and to expand its presence in the region. AgustaWestland has been increasing its market share in the Asian commercial helicopter market in recent years with strong sales for all its products. In the Malaysian market sales of AW119 Ke, Grand and AW139 helicopters have been made recently for corporate and VIP transport operations.
The Grand is a new top-of-the-range 8-place light twin helicopter developed to meet a wide range of market requirements and provides levels of cabin space and payload that until now could only be met by larger, more expensive helicopters. Thanks to its large unobstructed passenger cabin, superior performance, advanced avionics, high safety levels, low operating costs and excellent customer support, this new intermediate size helicopter with light twin economics has proven to be a major success in its class. Its distinctive characteristics and a wide range of interiors and avionics solutions make it a suitable platform for a multitude of roles including corporate/VIP transport, emergency medical service and offshore transport. Orders for almost 190 helicopters have been placed by more than 100 customers in almost 30 countries worldwide.
